If you start eating 3 dates daily, you will experience the following benefits:
- Boosted immunity, strong bones, and blood
Dates are rich in selenium, manganese, and magnesium, which support the health of the bones and blood, and strengthen the immune system.
- Improved Digestive Health
The high soluble fiber-content improves digestive health, and the high potassium content treats diarrhea and an upset stomach.
- Heart Health
Potassium is also good for heart health, as it lowers the risk of stroke and the p LDL (low-density lipoprotein) cholesterol levels.
- Energy Boost
The natural sugars in dates, fructose, sucrose, and glucose, boost energy levels, and the high fiber content prevents crashes of energy.
- Anemia prevention
Anemia occurs in the case of low iron levels, but since these fruits are loaded with it, their consumption is a great protection against this condition.
According to One Green Planet:
“Ultimately, dates are good for overall health despite their fructose concentration. Even if your diet is a sugar-free one, devoid of high-fructose corn syrup, agave, honey, coconut sugar and cane sugar, you probably still eat fruit and dates are a fruit too, with loads of benefits.
When picking out your dates, look for plump ones with unbroken, smoothly wrinkled skins and avoid those that smell rancid or are hardened.
Dried dates keep for up to a year in the refrigerator while fresh dates should be refrigerated in tight, sealed containers and can keep for up to eight months.”
Make sure you always consume natural and organic dates, in order to fully reap their benefits.
Despite having them as a snack, you can also add dates to numerous recipes and prepare amazing salad dressings, smoothies, chocolate bars, and desserts.
