Edward Snowden Says Governments Are Using COVID-19 To “Monitor Us Like Never Before”

Edward Snowden and other whistleblowers warn general masses, suggesting that governments use COVID-19 to sneak in new surveillance rules.

The world will never forget 9/11 and the major controversy that followed after the crumbling of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. Citizens of the world started asking questions about the government and the dark truth behind the attack.

“False flag terrorism” made headlines and there was an avalanche of reports suggesting that some “powers” create, fund, and stage terrorist events to boost national security and excuse the invasion of other countries. These reports suggest that “good will” doesn’t exist, adding that it’s just a mask for the cruel acts.

This invasion or infiltration is used as a method to extract resources, install a puppet government, or provide mass surveillance.

Wikileaks shocked the world with its reports. A great number of whistleblowers and other organizations showed the world that governments fund terrorists and even contribute to the attacks. The chemical weapons attack in Syria? These are just some of the examples Edward Snowden and William Binney mentioned in their reports.

The whistleblowers have exposed the National Security Agency and the US Government about the secret plan behind their surveillance programs.

These agencies have been using disturbing methods to monitor US citizens and citizens of other countries. Binney suggests that the surveillance measures were never created to protect us but to gain “total population control.”

Snowden’s thoughts on the coronavirus

“Governments around the world are exploiting the pandemic to monitor us like never before,” said Snowden. He explained that modern society approached an authoritarian type of existence.

Governments try to enforce strict obedience to authority, sacrificing our personal freedom. Authorities implement different measures to steal our freedom and we are not even aware of it because we are too busy finding the job or the house of our dreams.

Snowden further explains that the government uses fear, panic, and hysteria to implement its measures.

As authoritarianism spreads, as emergency laws proliferate, as we sacrifice our rights, we also sacrifice our capability to arrest the slide into a less liberal and less free world,” Snowden said. “Do you truly believe that when the first wave, this second wave, the 16th wave of the coronavirus is a long-forgotten memory, that these capabilities will not be kept?”

According to Snowden, the coronavirus pandemic is nothing but an effort to boost surveillance and security measures.

Dr. Ron Paul’s work was flagged as “false news” just because someone disapproved of his theory. He agrees with Snowden to some extent.

“Governments love crises because when the people are fearful they are more willing to give up freedoms for promises that the government will take care of them. After 9/11, for example, Americans accepted the near-total destruction of their civil liberties in the PATRIOT Act’s hollow promises of security,” Paul said.

“People should ask themselves whether this coronavirus “pandemic” could be a big hoax, with the actual danger of the disease massively exaggerated by those who seek to profit – financially or politically – from the ensuing panic. That is not to say the disease is harmless. Without question people will die from coronavirus.

Those in vulnerable categories should take precautions to limit their risk of exposure. But we have seen this movie before. The government over-hypes a threat as an excuse to grab more of our freedoms. When the ‘threat’ is over, however, they never give us our freedoms back.

Snowden had an interesting interview with Glenn Greenwald, and used it to discuss the coronavirus pandemic and “the risk of acquiescing to more surveillance during times of peril.”
